Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with valid New Jersey instructional certificate or eligibility with a suitable Highly Qualified endorsement.
• Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification is required.
• Demonstrates knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate activities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Remains current with developments in subject matter content, teaching methods, instructional strategies, educational technology, and educational research in assigned subject area(s).
• Develops lesson plans, adapts the curriculum, and plans a program of study to meet individual needs and abilities.
• Establishes standards of student behavior and maintains order to create a conducive learning environment.
• Guides learning toward NJCCCS goals and sets objectives in lesson preparation and planning.
• Identifies students’ needs and cooperates with other professionals in assessing and resolving learning difficulties.
