Job summary

Wilkes County Schools Traphill Elementary in Traphill, North Carolina is seeking a Part-Time Tutor (16.00 hours) to support students with subject material and study skills as needed.

Under supervision, you will provide academic assistance, help build confidence, and maintain rapport with students. Reports to the Principal or designee and meets No Child Left Behind requirements. Starting date is To Be Determined.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 48 semester hours of college coursework.
• Must meet No Child Left Behind requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic assistance to assigned tutees, either in a group or individually.
• Help students develop self-confidence, raise self-concept, and reduce anxiety or fear of failure in academic work.
• Help students develop the study skills necessary for academic success. Establish and maintain rapport with the assigned student(s).
• Serve as a role model for students being served.
• Performs other related work as required.
