Job summary

Fairport Central School District seeks a Teaching Assistant for Jefferson Avenue Elementary School. The role supports teachers and students in general and special education settings; duties include assisting with instruction, providing student support, supervising throughout the day, and helping with daily activities as needed.

Qualifications include NY TA Certification (Level I–III) or a teaching certificate, experience with special education preferred, and a minimum age of 18.

Qualifications

• Must have New York State Certification as a Teaching Assistant – Level I, II, and III or NY State teaching certification.
• Experience in Special Education is preferred.
• Candidate must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support the classroom teacher in delivering instruction to students.
• Provide individual or group support to students.
• Supervise students across school settings.
• Assist with daily activities including mobility and personal care as needed.
• Adapt materials for diverse learners and support IEP/504 plans.
