Job summary

Alma del Mar Charter School in New Bedford, MA, is seeking a Teaching Assistant for a temporary role starting August 2026 through the 2026-2027 school year.

The TA will support with schoolwide systems and routines, collaborate with Lead Teachers, and may substitute as needed. Qualifications include being 18+, experience with children, a passion for helping kids succeed, and bilingual candidates are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older
• Prior experience working with children in a professional capacity or as a regular volunteer
• A passion for working with kids and a belief that all kids can succeed
• Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply and will be compensated higher.

Responsibilities

• They will support with schoolwide systems and routines like arrival, meal times, recess, and dismissal.
• They will work in collaboration with and under the guidance of experienced Lead Teachers.
• Teaching Assistants may also act as substitutes throughout the building as needed.
• The content and age range of students they work with will depend on the needs of the school.
