This pool is for assignments for the 2025/2026 school year and for substitute positions.

The San Diego Unified School District accepts applications for Multiple Subject teachers on a continuous basis for regular full-time and part-time assignments. This is a continuous recruitment which will be used to establish an ongoing eligibility list for elementary and K-8 schools.
The Elementary Teacher Pool is for individuals who hold a multiple subjects credential or who are attaining a multiple subjects credential through a teacher credentialing program and want to teach in a TK through 6th grade environment. AB2534 As of January 1, 2025, in accordance with Education Code section 44939.5 (as amended by California AB2534) applicants for certificated positions are required by law to provide a complete list of every school district, county office of education, charter school and/or state special school with which you have previously been employed, regardless of the length of services. For all certificated positions, please be comprehensive in disclosing any part-time, full-time, and substitute employment. Failure to disclose any previous educational employment may result in the disqualification of your application.
You must list all previous LEAs (Local Education Agencies) where you have been employed. If multiple LEAs are within the same district, only the district information is required. An LEA is a local entity involved in education including but not limited to school districts, county offices of education, direct-funded charter schools, and special education local plan area (SELPA).
Local Educational Agency (LEA) Form is required when you submit your online application. Download this two page form, complete it for each LEA, then attach form(s) to your online application before submission. If you do not attach a completed form for each California LEA, your application will be considered incomplete.
A Multiple Subjects Teacher develops and implements lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program. The duties of this position include but are not limited to the following:

Required documents must be attached to the online employment application to be considered. The supplemental questions should be answered thoroughly, clearly and concisely as the responses provided (along with the entire application package) will be carefully reviewed to determine which candidates will move forward in the recruitment process. Please complete the online application to include all current and previous paid work history and education. Indicate on the application if you have unpaid volunteer or internship experience. The length of time you worked in each position or assignment must be clearly shown. A resume must be attached, but it does not substitute for completing the work history and education sections of the employment application.

The examination process will consist of an application screening based on the candidate's education, work history and responses to the supplemental questions. Professional References will be contacted for candidates that are selected to proceed in the examination process. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination. Candidates selected to proceed in the examination process will be invited to an interview. Applicants who pass the examination process will be placed on an eligible list for a period of one year. The eligible list will be used to fill vacancies at various school sites.
