Job summary

Oak Harbor Public Schools is creating a pool for elementary level teaching positions for the 2026‑2027 school year, focusing on grades Kindergarten through 4th. Candidates must have a valid Washington State teaching certificate, preferably with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and experience working with diverse student capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Washington State teaching certificate with Elementary Education endorsement
• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education; Master’s preferred
• Successful experience as an elementary teacher preferred
• Strong pre‑reading, core academic skills, and student‑centered approach to learning
• Experience and/or training working with diverse learning capabilities ranging from special education through gifted, including at‑risk students
• Demonstrated interest, commitment, and ability to work positively with elementary students
• Demonstrated ability to positively contribute to decision making in collaboration with administrators and other staff members
• Knowledge of Washington State education trends and the use of technology in the classroom
• Ability to provide a highly structured learning environment and work with a team
• Excellent communication skills, flexibility, and positive attitude required
