Elementary Teacher (K-5)

Job Description
Provides services to assist students in achieving a better understanding of specific subject material and in improving academic capabilities in designated areas. Collaborates with the school principal and staff members to assess students' needs and how best to address them.
Responsibilities
- Teach students academic, social, and motor skills in public schools.
- Prepare course objectives and outlines following curriculum guidelines or school requirements.
- Use lectures, demonstrations, audiovisual aids, and best practices to present subject matter.
- Prepare, administer, and correct tests; record results.
- Assign lessons, correct papers, and conduct oral presentations.
- Teach behavioral expectations and develop behavioral plans.
- Maintain order in classroom, playground, and campus.
- Counsel students when adjustment and academic problems arise.
- Discuss students' academic and behavioral progress with parents.
- Keep attendance and grade records as required.
- Coordinate class field trips.
- Teach combined, hybrid, or inclusion classes if required.
- Specialize by subject, such as math, science, social studies, or music.
- Engage in ongoing professional development.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues and participate in the school's learning community.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- State certification in Elementary (license code 025) and designated as highly qualified.
- Physical Requirements: ability to operate office equipment, drive a vehicle, and lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
- Data Conception: ability to analyze data, people, or objects against standards.
- Interpersonal Communication: ability to give instructions and present information clearly.
- Language Ability: proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking in standard English.
- Numerical and Verbal Aptitude: ability to handle mathematical calculations and verbal explanations.
- Motor Coordination and Manual Dexterity: ability to use office equipment and tools efficiently.
- Form/Spatial Aptitude: ability to inspect items for proper dimensions.
- Manual Dexterity: minimal eye/hand coordination required for handling office tools.
- Color Discrimination: not required.
- Interpersonal Temperament: adaptability under stress and emergency situations.
- Communication: proficiency in telephone use.

Terms of Employment
Full‑time for ten (10) months. Salary based on state and local salary schedules.
