Peoria Unified School District seeks an Elementary Teacher to cover Jr High Math/Science duties at Ira Murphy Elementary in Peoria, AZ. This certified teaching role requires developing engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and collaborating with staff.

Position is a 9-month term with a teacher salary schedule. Valid AZ teaching certificate or eligibility, plus fingerprint clearance, are required. Occasional after-hours and on-site duties may apply.

Manage and educate students while helping them discover and fulfill their potential

Set and maintain standards of classroom behavior and uphold District discipline policies
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities

Stewardship of Community Resources

Maintain accurate and complete records required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation

Requirements:

A valid intern, provisional, or standard Arizona Teaching Certificate; or possess the necessary qualifications to become certified in the state of Arizona. Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Other Requirements:

• Specialized teaching assignments may require additional training and/or certification
• Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Must be able to pass a background clearance check.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid government issued ID
• May be required to lift and carry heavy, bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds
• May be required to lift students weighing up to 60 pounds
• May be required to work outside normal working hours
• May be required to travel to perform work functions
