Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent
• NC teaching certification eligible for assigned area
• Experience in K-6 instruction and classroom management preferred
• Knowledge of curriculum standards and assessment methods

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
• Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods
• Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request
• Diagnose learning challenges and maintain records for IEPs and 504 Plans
• Provide instructional program to meet needs of all students including those with disabilities and limited English proficiency
• Assess student progress through tests and assignments
• Communicate with parents/guardians and collaborate with counselors and administrators
