Job summary

Romulus Community Schools seeks an Elementary Teacher for Romulus Elementary School to implement curriculum aligning with CCSS and school goals. The role involves delivering instruction, differentiating for diverse learners, and collaborating with grade-level teams to support student growth.

Responsibilities include planning lessons, using assessments to guide instruction, engaging families, and participating in school improvement efforts within a multicultural setting.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with Elementary Endorsement K-5 / K-8 All Subjects.
• Major or minor in Specified Content Area; MTTC test passed.
• Experience with cooperative learning strategies.
• Experience with technology / multimedia approach teaching and learning.
• Experience with NWEA preferred.
• Experience using summative and formative assessments in instructional planning preferred.
• Experience in participating in PLCs preferred.
• Ability to work in a multicultural setting.
• Willingness to be actively involved in the school improvement process.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and explain new ideas and concepts clearly so students understand.
• Use effective strategies for differentiation of instruction.
• Adhere to curricular goals to support commonality in classroom instructions.
• Develop lesson plans that support CCSS and School Improvement Goals.
• Engage students in lessons and meaningful learning experiences.
• Administer assessments to monitor performance and adjust instruction.
• Enhance the instructional environment to improve student performance.
• Engage with parents and build healthy relationships with students.
• Communicate regularly with parents.
• Evaluate students via report cards.
• Collaborate with staff.
• Work with Romulus Community Schools’ Grade Level teams to align education program.
• Manage classroom equipment and inventory.
• Perform other duties related to assignment.
