Pleasants Lane Elementary School is seeking an Elementary School Teacher to implement district-approved curriculum, monitor student progress, and create a safe, engaging learning environment. The teacher will provide individualized instruction, prepare lesson plans, and collaborate with staff to support student growth.

Virginia teaching licensure is required, with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a preferred Master's degree.

Qualifications

• Must hold Virginia Collegiate Professional License or Postgraduate Professional License with Elementary Education endorsement.
• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field; Master's preferred.

• Develops and administers the elementary curriculum aligned with district goals.
• Creates safe, engaging learning environments for individuals and small groups.
• Plans lessons and instructional materials to maximize instructional time.
• Assesses student progress and adapts teaching methods as needed.
• Instructs on citizenship and district-mandated subject matters.
• Pursues ongoing professional development and research in education.
• Maintains accurate records of student achievement and attendance.
• Encourages parent involvement and effective communication with families.
• Maintains pupil behavior standards per school/district policies.
• Collaborates with grade-level colleagues on curriculum and assessment.
• Selects and requisitions books and supplies; manages inventory.
• Supervises students during activities outside the classroom.
• Administers standardized tests per district programs.
