Job summary
Westwood Heights Schools in Michigan is seeking an enthusiastic Elementary School Teacher to join our team and foster an engaging, inclusive classroom. The role emphasizes supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally within MTSS frameworks.
The ideal candidate will hold a Michigan Teaching Certificate and a bachelor's degree, with MTTC and reading coursework completed, plus background checks and CPR/First Aid.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with elementary endorsement.
- Pass MTTC subject exam(s).
- Complete required diagnostic reading coursework per MDE guidelines.
- State and Federal Background Check clearance (LiveScan) and CPR/First Aid certification.
Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and differentiate instruction aligned with Michigan standards.
- Assess student progress using formative and summative tools.
- Support MTSS to create a positive, structured learning environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student growth.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, SPED staff, and school leadership.
