Job summary

KIPP Texas Public Schools in Houston seeks a Teacher to deliver engaging instruction and monitor student growth across standards-aligned curricula. You will use data to refine plans, collaborate with teams, and support families through regular communication.

This role requires a Texas teaching certificate, a commitment to high expectations, and participation in extended school day activities as part of the KIPP Texas mission.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of core subject area assigned.
  • Texas Teacher Certificate appropriate for level and/or subject area.
  • Must be considered highly-qualified based on NCLB guidelines.
  • A valid Texas Teacher's certificate is required for all Pre-K4 and Special Education teaching positions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop year-long Texas State standards-based unit plans and lesson plans that meet all students' learning needs.
  • Use assessment data to modify short and long-term plans to promote all students' academic performance.
  • Collaborate with content and grade-level teams to promote critical thinking and academic rigor.
  • Attend critical school events such as staff meetings, open houses, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Develop individualized learning plans for students and communicate these plans to families in parent meetings and conferences.
