To create a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary grade education, in accordance with each pupil's ability; to establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.
Supervises classroom, students, and volunteers.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor of Arts degree.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid South Carolina Elementary Teaching Certificate.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effective presentation skills.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions furnished in various formats.
Other Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of current research and theory in instruction; ability to plan and implement lessons based on objectives and student needs; establish effective relationships; strong communication skills; awareness of district policies.
Physical Demands: Frequently standing, talking, hearing; occasionally walking, sitting; may lift weights up to 25 lbs and occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs. Must meet safety and vision requirements.
Work Environment: Moderate to loud noise levels; indoor and outdoor duties; reasonable accommodations available.
