Job summary

Buffalo Commons is seeking a Founding Elementary Teacher (General Education) to lead curriculum, instruction, and community building in its K-8 setting. You will collaborate with your grade-team and a co-teacher to lay the foundations of teaching and learning systems.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in education and Childhood Education (Grades 1–6) certification, with a track record of raising student achievement, ideally in urban charter schools.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
Certification in teaching area (strongly preferred).
Track record of success in raising student achievement.
Experience in an urban charter school (preferred).
Practical written, oral, and visual communications skills.

About The Position

Nothing leads to student success like working with a great teacher year after year. As a Founding Teacher, you will promote the success of all students through excellence in curriculum, instruction, and community building. Additionally, you will collaborate with your grade-team and co-teacher to lay the lasting foundations of teaching and learning systems at Buffalo Commons. The Founding Teacher reports to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
