Distinctive Schools in Chicago seeks an Elementary Teacher dedicated to equity, rigorous instruction, and joyful learning. You will plan lessons aligned to grade-level standards, engage students with purposeful instruction, and communicate progress clearly with families.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, a valid Illinois teaching license (or enrollment in a certification program within 30 days), and comfort with Google Suite and data-informed decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Valid Professional Educator License with the Illinois State Board of Education or enrollment in a Teacher Certification program within 30 days of employment.
• Proficient with Google Suite and cloud based software solutions.
• Ability to review and analyze student and campus data from multiple source.
• Travel as required for training, professional development, and collaboration.

• Maintain inventory of all instructional materials
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development
• Analyze and use assessments that monitor progress to inform and design appropriate response/strategies
• Assess students daily, weekly, and at the ends of units and analyze assessment data through campus and network wide systems
• Engage in coaching and mentoring opportunities to improve instructional effectiveness
• Participate in all required professional development and meetings
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal
