Job summary

Uncommon Schools seeks an Elementary School Teacher to cultivate a love of learning in every student from the start. You will co-teach, build a joyful classroom, and deliver instruction across math, reading, writing, science, and social studies while honoring diverse backgrounds.

You will meet weekly with a principal/coach to analyze student work, differentiate instruction, and support students’ social-emotional growth. Join a supportive team with extensive training and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; NY certification eligibility required.
• Enrollment in a teacher preparation program if no NY degree in education; GPA 2.5+ during employment.
• Commitment to social-emotional and academic development of urban K-12 students.

Responsibilities

• Co-teach and maintain an engaging classroom environment.
• Teach math, reading, and writing with a rigorous ELA and core subjects curriculum.
• Collaborate with grade-level team to set academic goals and monitor progress.
