Job summary

Summit Academy North in Romulus, MI is seeking a passionate Full-Time Elementary Teacher to join our Summit Family. The school has educated students for 25 years and currently serves about 1,600 learners across Preschool through 12th grade.

The role focuses on creating a nurturing, stimulating classroom and fostering a love of learning. We seek a candidate with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education (Master's preferred) and Michigan teaching certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
• Valid Michigan teaching certification/license with endorsement in the grade level.
• Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate lesson plans based on curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
• Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students
• Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff
• Regular and predictable attendance
