Job summary

Torah Prep School of St. Louis is seeking Teacher Assistants to support instructional and administrative staff, assisting with instruction of individual and small groups and supervision during arrival, lunch, recess, and dismissal. Substitute teaching may be required on days a teacher is absent.

Experience with children, a strong literacy background, teamwork, and excellent classroom management are essential. Positions include morning, afternoon, and full-time hours across campuses.

Qualifications

• Experience with children preferred (teacher aide or teacher experience).
• Strong literacy background including guided reading and writer's workshop.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and meet needs of all students.
• Team player with strong communication skills.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Creative, dynamic and positive professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform supportive instructional tasks under the direction of teachers and administrators.
• Supervise classrooms when needed.
• Monitor students during independent work and provide assistance as needed.
• Provide one-to-one or small group tutorial support.
• Provide practice and reinforcement activities after instruction.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials.
• Encourage students.
• Supervise students throughout the school day.
• Assist with clerical duties as needed.
• Substitute teach in general studies classrooms across campuses when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
