Job summary

Edgecombe County Public Schools Fairview Elementary in Rocky Mount, North Carolina seeks a Teacher Assistant to support the lead teacher, assist with instruction, and monitor student progress. Qualifications

• High School diploma and at least 48 college hours; minimum GPA 2.0.
• Must hold a valid NC driver’s license and be eligible for NC bus driver’s license.
• Experience supporting students with academics or behavioral needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher with instruction and monitoring of students.
• Provide one-on-one academic support and small group activities.
• Monitor safety and behavior; maintain discipline in classroom.
• Perform clerical duties and maintain student progress records.
• Assist with housekeeping and classroom setup; operate audiovisual equipment.
• Participate in staff development as needed.
