Position Title: Certified Teacher

Supervisor: Principal at assigned location

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Student Success: Manage and educate students while helping them discover and fulfill their potential.
2. Safety and Well-Being: Cultivate a creative learning environment and maintain a safe, inviting, and nurturing space for students, staff, and the community.
3. Community Connection: Enhance Peoria Unified’s culture which encourages and strengthens parent and community partnerships.
4. Stewardship of Community Resources: Adheres to effective policies, practices, and accountability of District resources.

Requirements: A valid intern, provisional, or standard Arizona Teaching Certificate; or possess the necessary qualifications to become certified in the state of Arizona. Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Other Requirements:

• Specialized teaching assignments may require additional training and/or certification.
• Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background clearance check.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid government issued ID.
• May be required to lift and carry heavy, bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
• May be required to lift students weighing up to 60 pounds.
• May be required to work outside normal working hours.
• May be required to travel to perform work functions.
