POSITION: Teacher

LOCATION: Local school as assigned

REPORTS TO: Principal

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

TERMS: 187-day position paid following the board-approved salary schedule

QUALIFICATIONS: State of Alabama Professional Educator Certificate and Highly Qualified in area of instructional responsibility

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teacher as Learner:

  1. Possess current content knowledge in the area of instructional responsibility.
  2. Continue as a life-long learner.
  3. Participate in professional learning activities.
  4. Collaborate with colleagues.
  5. Learn and utilize new strategies and technologies to engage students in challenging, authentic, and meaningful learning experiences.
  6. Model lifelong learning and curiosity to students.

Teacher as Relationship Builder:

  4. Consistently encourage and support each student to reach his/her fullest potential.

Teacher as Designer and Facilitator:

  8. Understand that failure is a valuable part of the learning process that occurs when students challenge themselves.

  6. Performs other duties as required by school and system leadership.
