Job summary

Legacy Traditional Schools is seeking a General Education Teacher to inspire students and deliver direct instruction through a rigorous curriculum, including Spalding reading/writing and enVision Math. You will foster engaged learning, adapt resources for diverse learners, and maintain clear records while communicating with families.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and valid teaching certification, with travel between campuses as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct instruction using an accelerated, back-to-basics curriculum including Spalding and enVision Math.
• Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet diverse student needs.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with students, parents, and colleagues regularly.
• Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment and participate in staff meetings.

As a General Education Teacher, you will have the opportunity to change lives through education as you motivate students to achieve academic excellence. You will provide direct instruction using an accelerated, back-to-basics curriculum including Spalding (reading & writing) and enVision Math as you:

• Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
• Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
• Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide our students through a variety of activities designed to promote the social, physical and intellectual growth that is needed for primary school success!
• Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
• Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
• Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
• Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
• Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
• Participate in training and staff meetings.
• Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules and coordinating meetings as needed.
• Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments.
• Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives.
• Be active in the role when light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus and traveling to other campuses as required. Participate in events outside of normal hours.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Valid teacher certification
• The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS

• A current teaching certificate from within the state position is located.

PHYSICAL AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Travel between campuses is required from time to time.
• This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion.
• This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping and long periods of concentration.
• Local and in-state travel required.
