Position Title: Elementary Teacher

Terms: 10-month, full-time
Community of Peace Academy is an urban public charter school located on the East Side of St. Paul, Minnesota serving nearly 850 students in grades PreK to 12. We take pride in being a multicultural community of students and staff committed to educating the whole person - mind, body and will - for peace, justice, freedom, compassion, wholeness and fullness of life for all.
We are seeking a teacher to join our elementary team for the 24-25 school year. We anticpiate a few openings across Grades 1-4.
The qualified applicant will hold a MN Teaching license in Elementary Education.
At CPA, Responsive Classroom is implemented across all elementary classrooms. If you have not taken RC training, we will support you in implementing these strategies. We also implement the PeaceBuilders program school wide. Your Mentor teacher will assist you in implementing PeaceBuilders. New teachers have a mentor as well as regular support from an instructional coach.
Responsibilities And Skills Required
- Have a strong understanding of the Minnesota Academic Standards for 2nd Grade across content areas
- Facilitate instruction, evaluate and assess student progress against instructional outcomes and objectives
- Possess the ability to develop rapport with young learners of diverse backgrounds
- Work cooperatively with individuals and teams
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication with staff, students, and parents
- Demonstrate an unyielding commitment to helping all students attain high academic and ethical standards of performance
