Job summary

Legacy Traditional Schools is seeking dedicated educators to deliver an accelerated, back-to-basics curriculum across reading, writing, and math. You will assess students, adapt resources, and collaborate with teachers to foster engaging learning.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and SEI Endorsement or ability to obtain, plus passing a criminal background check. Travel between campuses may be required; participation in after-hours events and professional development is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction using accelerated, back-to-basics curriculum (Spalding reading/writing and enVision Math).
  • Implement instructional activities to engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet diverse learners’ needs.
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
  • Maintain effective record keeping and communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct instruction using an accelerated, back-to-basics curriculum including Spalding (reading & writing) and enVision Math.
  • Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
  • Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide our students through a variety of activities designed to promote the social, physical and intellectual growth that is needed for primary school success!
  • Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement.
  • Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
  • Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
  • Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
  • Participate in training and staff meetings.
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules and coordinating meetings as needed.
  • Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments.
  • Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives.
  • Be active in the role when light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus and traveling to other campuses as required.
  • Participate in events outside of normal hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Valid SEI Endorsement/Certification or ability to obtain.
  • The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A current teaching certificate from within the state position is located.
Physical and Travel Requirements / Work Environment
  • Travel between campuses is required from time to time.
  • This position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion.
  • This position may require sitting for long periods at times, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping and long periods of concentration.
  • Local and in-state travel required.
