Job summary

Qualifications

• AA or BA degree or para certification required.
• Experience with children preferred but not required.
• Post-secondary coursework in education field preferred.
• Ability to be a self-starter and intuitive to student needs.
• Ability to work with educational team and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during recess by monitoring safety and notifying staff of issues.
• Supervise students during lunch, assist with seating and food distribution as needed.
• Assist with basic student health concerns and medicine distribution.
• Assist with daily lunch counts and ordering lunches from Food Service.
• Assist with attendance, tardies, and contacting families as needed.
• Assist classroom teachers in preparing instructional materials.
• Assists in media center when needed.
• Respect confidentiality of student records.
• Conform to negotiated paraeducator agreement; perform other duties as assigned.
