Responsibilities

• Develops and administers school elementary curriculum consistent with district goals and objectives.
• Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized instruction.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates them into learning experiences.
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and adapts instruction to individual needs.
• Instructs students in responsible citizenship and district-approved subjects.
• Attends seminars and professional development to stay current in the field.
• Organizes records for grading and reporting as required by district procedures.
• Encourages parental involvement and communicates effectively with families.
• Maintains standards of pupil behavior and coordinates with staff to evaluate curriculum.
• Supervises students during activities and administration of tests.
