Job summary

Kokua Education in Austin, TX is seeking substitute teachers to join a flexible program. You choose assignments across K-12 schools, with scheduling that fits your needs and community impact. Earn up to $200 per day, with rapid offers and potential pathways to full-time roles.

Qualifications

• Have at least 1 year working with kids in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, etc.)
• Completed 48+ college credit hours
• Feel confident managing a classroom of students
• Are willing to step in where needed - this could include lunch/recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season
• Pass state & federal background checks (costs reimbursed after 10 assignments)
• Believe every child has a unique & powerful gift to share with the world

Responsibilities

• Teach or supervise students in assigned classrooms and activities
• Supervise lunch/recess and hallway monitoring as needed
• Provide tutoring support and proctor testing when required
• Work with schools across the Austin area and adjust to different grade levels

• Up to $200/day paid weekly
• $129 daily - some college (48+ credits), or Associate’s
• $150 daily - Bachelor’s or higher
• $200 daily - long-term assignments (all qualification levels)
• Paid via W-2, meaning no year-end tax headaches
