You will instruction, plan lessons, maintain a productive classroom, assess student progress, and communicate with the principal and families as required. PDE Certification in Elementary Education or emergency certification is required.

Qualifications

• PDE Certification in Elementary Education, or ability to obtain emergency certification.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the location and at the times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Prepares for classes assigned, and shows evidence of preparation upon request.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and communicates these objectives to students.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media.
• Strives to implement the district's education goals and objectives.
• Assesses student progress and provides reports as required.
• Maintains records as required by law and policy.
• Supports administration in applying policies and classroom rules.
• Makes provision to be available to students and parents outside instructional days.
