Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent and one of: Associate’s degree or 48 college hours or ParaPro.
• Successful completion of STAR substitute teacher training within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Work with students in small groups as directed by the teacher.
• Provide supervision after STAR training and under teacher planning.
• Assist the teacher in delivering instruction as requested.
• Document program progress using computer software.
• Assess student performance with objective evaluations.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records as required by FRPA.
• Assist in demonstrating math, reading, and grammar skills.
• Support behavior management and crisis intervention as needed.
• Assist in positioning and movement of students as directed.
• Follow school policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
• Assist with attendance monitoring and required documentation.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring for eligible students.
