Job summary

Westford Public Schools is seeking a .2 FTE Elementary Strings Teacher to teach beginner strings in Grades 4 and 5 at Crisafulli Elementary. The role includes leading the building-based orchestra and reporting to the Principal and Curriculum Coordinator.

The position requires a Bachelor of Music, DESE Licensure in Music, and strong interpersonal/organizational skills; citizenship or work eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Music Degree or equivalent required
• Primary instrument: violin/viola/cello/bass preferred
• DESE Licensure required in Music
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

• Teach beginner instrumental strings classes to Grades 4 and 5
• Lead in developing a school ensemble and present concerts
• Implement a standards-based instrumental music curriculum
• Use Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to create inclusive learning
• Maintain high expectations and strong classroom management
