Fletcher-Maynard Academy in Cambridge seeks an Elementary STEM Teacher to lead project-based STEM experiences, integrating NGSS and MA frameworks, in a whole-child approach.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching elementary students in STEM contexts.
• Ability to design lesson plans with clear goals.
• Understanding of diverse learners and equity.
• Experience in urban school settings is valued.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate STEM project-based learning experiences aligned to NGSS and MA frameworks.
• Support students in deepening critical thinking, collaboration, and creative skills through exploration, modeling, testing prototypes, and evaluating solutions.
• Create a structured, engaging classroom environment that supports hands‑on exploration, maintains clear expectations and routines, and accommodates diverse student needs.
• Incorporate a variety of teaching and assessment strategies to inform and modify instruction.
• Collaborate with other educators and the school and department level to promote alignment between the different student learning experiences.
• Showcase student work through family engagement and community partnerships.
• Attend weekly specialist team meetings with colleagues as assigned.
• Attend regular school and department meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the school principal.
