Minimum Qualifications:

  • PROFESSIONAL EDUCATOR LICENSE WITH LBS 1 ENDORSEMENT REQUIRED; ELEMENTARY ENDORSEMENT AND ESL ENDORSEMENT PREFERRED.

Additional Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of Special Education programming, laws, and procedures to ensure compliance with IDEA and district policies related to special education services.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral data.
  • Case management of assigned students which includes development of standards-aligned IEPs, reporting progress, and facilitating IEP meetings.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and data-based decision-making.
  • Effective written, verbal, and technology-based communication skills.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, diagnostic tools, and research related to students with disabilities.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Self-contained teaching experience at the elementary level preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of specially designed instruction in literacy and math to support diverse learners.
  • Strong knowledge of autism-specific teaching strategies, including visual supports, communication, social skills, and sensory regulation techniques.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to implement individualized behavior plans.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with linguistically and culturally diverse students.
