Job summary

American Leadership Academy - Lexington is accepting applications for Special Education Teachers at our Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check.

Responsibilities include adapting instruction to IEPs, collaborating with general education teachers for inclusion, and coordinating IEP meetings with parents and school staff. A SPED endorsement and relevant credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Pass background check.
• South Carolina SPED certification/endorsement required.

Responsibilities

• Modify and adapt instruction to IEPs for diverse learners.
• Develop lesson plans aligned to curriculum and support inclusion.
• Communicate with parents, administrators, school psychologists on IEP meetings.
• Act as IEP facilitator between special ed. and general education teachers.
• Maintain student data and monitor IEP goals.
• Attend professional meetings and training to maintain professional competence.
