Job summary

The Central Berkshire Regional School District – Craneville School in Dalton, MA is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to assist classroom teachers with accommodations and to support students with disabilities in a collaborative setting.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (associate degree preferred), experience with elementary students, and the ability to work with diverse learning, behavioral, and emotional needs.

Qualifications

• Experience with students with disabilities required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Associate's Degree preferred.
• Experience working with elementary age students desirable.
• First Aid/CPR certification desirable.
• Ability to interact and take direction from a variety of professionals.
• Able to work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to follow teacher direction.
• Requires patience and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher and/or special education teacher in implementing accommodations and/or modifications for students requiring such supports.
• Assist general and special education teachers in collecting data on student progress.
• Collaborate with other staff in implementing behavioral intervention plans, as needed.
• Support student independence through the acquisition of skills and strategies.
• Other duties may be assigned by the building principal or superintendent. Hours will be assigned by the principal.
