Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.
• RIDE Certification: Elementary Special Education Teacher, Grades KG-8.
• ESL Certification preferred.
• Structured Literacy Proficiency required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administer curriculum aligned with RI State Standards and IEP goals.
• Provide specially designed instruction for students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers using co-teaching models.
• Develop and implement IEPs within regulatory timelines.
• Prepare quarterly progress reports per RI regulations.
• Schedule three-year re-evaluations as required.
• Ensure free appropriate public education in least restrictive environment.
• Utilize data to monitor progress and adjust instruction.
