Job summary

American Leadership Academy seeks a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year at our West Valley campus. The role requires a valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card, teaching certification, and a passion for inclusive education.

You will adapt instruction, collaborate with general education staff, and support IEP processes to help diverse learners succeed in a standards-aligned program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field required.
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• Teaching Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Modify and adapt instructional delivery and materials aligned to IEPs.
• Develop and implement lesson plans and support inclusion students.
• Communicate with parents, administrators, and other professionals for IEP meetings.
• Act as IEP facilitator between special ed. and general education teachers.
• Update IEPs and data reports with team input.
• Complete report cards and progress reports for each student.
• Assist staff in identifying interventions for students in Student Study Team.
• Maintain accurate student data for grading and IEP progress.
• Attend professional meetings and training to improve practice.
• Other duties as assigned.

American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year for our campuses in the West Valley. Candidates must be certified, highly qualified, and possess, or be willing to obtain, an Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Modify and adapt instructional delivery and materials in alignment with the adopted curriculum and IEPs to ensure access for students with diverse learning needs.
• Develop and implement approved lesson plans aligned to the adopted curriculum and collaborate with general education teachers to support lesson planning for inclusion students.
• Consistently communicate and correspond with parents, administrators, school psychologists and other professionals to set-up and plan IEP and Evaluation meetings.
• Act as IEP facilitator and collaborator between special ed. and regular education teachers.
• Gather relative information from team members and write, revise, or update IEP and existing data reports.
• Complete report cards and progress reports on each student’s progress.
• Assist other professional staff in identifying and implementing interventions for students identified in the Student Study Team process.
• Maintain appropriate student data in order to keep school-wide grading system up to date as well as data required to monitor IEP goal progress.
• Attend professional meetings, educational conferences and training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Other duties as assigned.
