• Position Type: Instructional-Special Education/ Teacher of Students with Cognitive Impairment

Minimum Requirements:

1. Must hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate.
2. Must meet Highly Qualified standards for elementary grades level.
3. Teaching certification with an endorsement as a teacher of the cognitively impaired preferred.

Responsibilities and Preferences:

• Willing and able to deliver effective classroom instruction.
• Experience in teaching learning disabled, cognitively and/or emotionally impaired students preferred.
• Experience in teaching elementary age students preferred.
• Exhibit emotional stability and physical stamina necessary for meeting the requirements of the position.
• Participate in staff development and curriculum development activities.
• Collaborate as part of a building team to improve instruction.
• Be open to continuous change.
• Maintain excellent communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.

• SALARY: Per DEA Master Agreement
• DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Building Principal/Director of Special Education
