Qualifications

• Indiana teaching license with proper certification.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of supervisor.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guides the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals and communicates objectives to students.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet needs of students.
• Strives to implement district education goals and objectives.
• Assesses students' progress and provides progress reports.
• Diagnoses learning disabilities and seeks district specialist assistance as needed.
• Maintains safety of students and school property.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Assists administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct.
• Makes provisions to be available to students and parents outside instructional hours.
• Plans and supervises assignments for teacher aides and volunteers, and evaluates their performance.
• Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees.
