  • Requires Kansas Teaching License.
  • Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • All USD 383 employees must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
  • Guides students in maintaining acceptable standards of classroom behavior.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the district’s resources and student needs.
  • Strives to implement district goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrates culturally responsive instructional strategies addressing diverse student groups.
  • Teaches from a culturally inclusive perspective and values differences.
  • Supports students in exploring their cultural identities and language learning needs.
  • Evaluates student progress and reports at designated times.
  • Maintains accurate records as required by law and policy.
  • Upholds school rules and regulations; communicates with parents outside instructional days as needed.
  • Keeps open lines of communication with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.
  • Cooperates with staff in planning instructional goals and methods.
  • Other duties as assigned by administration.
