Position Details

Resource Specialist Teacher
FLSA Status: Exempt
Pay Cycle: 11 months
Salary: $68,000-$102,000 + subject matter enhancement
Subject Matter Enhancement: up to $2,000

Position Summary

As a special education teacher with ICEF, you will collaborate with dedicated professionals to deliver comprehensive programs for students with disabilities. Our approach emphasizes teamwork among teachers, psychologists, paraprofessionals, and administrators to ensure inclusive and effective education. We prioritize ongoing coaching in compliance, program development, and collaboration, fostering a community where teachers are integral to student success.

Reports to

School Principal

Responsibilities
  • Teach knowledge, skills, confidence, and character to students with special needs.
  • Instruct students in subject matter, perceptual training, and motor skills.
  • Develop lesson plans based on curriculum guidelines to remediate student eligibilities.
  • Use specialized methodologies and educational aids to support instruction.
  • Assess students' backgrounds and collaborate on educational planning.
  • Design and adapt educational programs to meet individual needs.
  • Manage accommodations and modifications for students with IEPs.
  • Provide individual and group instruction for learning disabilities.
  • Employ positive behavior management strategies.
  • Coordinate with IEP teams and monitor student progress.
  • Administer and interpret assessments to evaluate growth.
  • Communicate with parents and staff regarding student progress.
  • Assist students in mainstream classrooms and vary instructional methods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Valid California teaching credential (intern, preliminary, or clear).
  • Desirable: BCLAD, CLAD, Bilingual Certificate of Competence, or LDS; EL Authorization.
  • Experience working with underserved urban students.
  • Ability to manage behavior and work under pressure.
Additional Requirements
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable transportation and valid California Driver’s License.
  • Clear TB, DOJ, and FBI clearances.
  • Eligibility to work in the US.
Skills and Abilities

Must be organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple activities. Ability to analyze data, interpret guidelines, and work independently in diverse settings is essential.

Working Environment

Includes local travel, school visits, and physical activities such as lifting or climbing. Work involves sitting, walking, and standing, with exposure to typical school environment risks.

Educational Requirements
  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in any field, Preliminary or Intern Credential.
  • Preferred: Degree in Psychology, Education, or related field; Clear Mild to Moderate Education Specialist Credential; Master’s in Special Education.
Certifications & Clearances
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Criminal Justice, Fingerprint, TB Clearances.
Salary

Commensurate with experience.
