Job summary

AED CONSTRUCTORES is seeking an Elementary Special Education Resource Teacher to support students receiving special education services in Wayne County, Michigan. The role focuses on delivering targeted instruction to help students meet IEP goals within a resource room setting.

Responsibilities include developing and monitoring IEP goals, collaborating with general education staff, and coordinating with families and service providers to support student progress and independence.

Qualifications

• Valid state teaching credential in Special Education.
• Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience within the past 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction in a resource room setting.
• Support core academic areas including reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Implement specially designed instruction based on individual IEP goals.
• Develop, review, and monitor IEP goals and student progress.
• Adapt instructional materials and provide accommodations and modifications.
• Collect and analyze student data to measure progress and adjust instruction.
• Serve as case manager for assigned students and maintain required special education documentation.
• Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress reviews.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support students in inclusive classrooms.
• Work with families, paraeducators, and related service providers to coordinate student support.
• Support students in developing academic independence, organization, and self-advocacy skills.
