Job summary
AHRC New York City is seeking a Special Education School Age Teacher Assistant for Brooklyn Blue Feather Elementary. The position runs full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 A.M to 3:30 P.M., with a 10-month program plus a 30-day summer session.
Qualifications include NYS Teaching Assistant Certification Levels I-III and an AA/60 credits or BA/MA. Salaries range from $40,548 to $42,024 per year, with benefits and professional development opportunities available.
Qualifications
- NYS Teaching Assistant Certification Levels I-III.
- Education: AA or 60 credits | BA or MA.
- Salaries commensurate upon education attainments.
- Providing supervisory and monetary support towards your RBT Certification.
Responsibilities
- Assist the teacher in daily activities in an elementary Special Education classroom.
- Support implementation of daily schedule/lesson plans aligned to NYS Prekindergarten/Foundation for the Common Core Standards or NYS Common Core Standards, informed by authentic assessment data.
- Demonstrate appropriate teaching techniques, including prompting, pacing and reinforcement strategies.
