Job summary

Sylvania is hiring to support elementary students (PreK–5, or up to grade 8 at some campuses) in various classroom settings. The role includes assisting with physical, social-emotional, and developmental needs, with potential placement in IR, ER, PK, or general education settings.

New hires receive a $2,000 new hire bonus after 30 days, plus a $2,000 retention bonus with installments in December and June. The position offers an hourly rate with a 7-hour work day and a 9-month work year.

Qualifications

• Must meet at least one of the listed education options.
• Ability to lift and assist students safely.
• Understanding of developmental disabilities with empathy for students with special needs.
• Tutoring skills appropriate to assigned students.
• Completion of de-escalation/crisis intervention training, including physical restraint, as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the care, instruction, and support of elementary students with various needs.
• Work in IR, ER, PK, or integrated general education settings as assigned.
• Support students during class and instructional activities.
