Job summary

The Camas School District seeks an Elementary SEL Interventionist for K-3 to provide direct social-emotional and behavioral support. This role focuses on self-regulation, de-escalation, and targeted behavior coaching, not classroom teaching, with potential small-group work.

Work occurs mainly in reset spaces, classrooms, and common areas, across an instructional day. The position is 1.0 FTE, 180 days, with a salary range of $64,042–$117,614.

Qualifications

• Valid Washington State teaching certificate with Elementary Education K-8 or K-12 Special Education endorsement.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Educational Leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supported Self- Regulation & Crisis De-escalation: respond immediately to acute dysregulation with trauma-informed techniques.
• Manage Regulation & Reset Spaces: oversee calm-down/reset room with tools and prompts.
• Check-In / Check-Out (CICO): daily mood checks, set goals, track progress, provide reinforcement.
• Targeted Small-Group Skill Building: lead non-instructional groups on impulse control and social skills.
• In-Classroom Behavioral Coaching: push-in supports to help students stay focused during instruction.
• Unstructured Environment & Transition Coaching: supervise lunch/recess and transitions with coaching.
• Data Tracking, Team & Caregiver Collaboration: monitor incidents and collaborate with care team.
• Caregiver Communication: regularly update families on progress and align strategies.
