Responsibilities of the Elementary Teacher:

  • Demonstrate a joy for learning and teaching.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and projects that demonstrate a distinguished knowledge of content and pedagogy appropriate for early childhood students.
  • Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
  • Plan and use appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflects accommodations for individual needs of students assigned.
  • Use technologies in the teaching/learning process to support and enhance instruction and learning.
  • Provide appropriate written/oral feedback on student work, and work with grade-level team to assign developmentally appropriate and relevant homework when appropriate.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Observe and assess student performance and development.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development, including anecdotal notes and or written reports.
  • Prepare required written formal and informal reports on student progress and development.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to student, colleagues and families regarding student progress and needs.

Qualifications of the Elementary Teacher:

  • Bachelor's in Elementary Education or related degree required.
  • Master's degree (preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; credibility and ethical conduct.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills; ability to write and format professional correspondence, memos, and support documentation.
  • Mature judgment and discretion; ability to maintain confidentiality and composure under pressure working with sensitive or confidential information.
  • Consistent and prompt attendance; conscientious about timeliness of assignments and the quality of work product.
  • U.S. Work Authorization required.

Potential Benefits: Compensation and benefit packages are competitive but will differ by school and will typically depend on geographic location, your experience, and your level of degree.
