Erie 1 BOCES seeks a Teacher (Wisdom Warrior) to plan, deliver, and assess instructional programs in a supportive learning environment. This exempt, 10-month role reports to the Principal and requires strong communication and classroom management skills.

Starting salary ranges from $48,500 to $62,500 with annual raises, and benefits including STRS, comprehensive health benefits, and a 403B. Itinerant location: Rochester, NY; Start Date: 08/17/2026.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred in content area.
NYS Teaching Certification preferred.
Experience in classroom teaching preferred.

Terms of Employment

Starting Salary: $48,500 (Master's Degree & Certified)

Primary Functions

Instruction
Classroom management

Supervisory Functions

Supervise support teachers, interns, and teacher aides as requested

Duties and Responsibilities

Instructional:
- Manage classroom environment to promote student development
- Facilitate student learning and communicate progress
- Provide direct instruction and monitor student progress
- Align curriculum and stay current with teaching methodologies
- Provide students with frequent and accurate behavioral and academic feedback
- Identify students who are academically at risk and execute effective intervention strategies
- Consistently use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices
Non-Instructional:
- Mentor assigned teachers
- Maintain accurate grade and attendance records
- Communicate with students, parents, and colleagues
- Attend parent/teacher conferences and staff meetings
- Supervise field trips, school clubs, and activities
- Ensure classroom cleanliness and confidentiality of student information
Related Responsibilities:
- Submit annual plans and implement school policies
- Participate in professional development and home visits
- Attend staff meetings and collaboration sessions
- Perform additional duties as directed
