Erie 1 BOCES in Rochester is seeking a Teacher (Wisdom Warrior) to plan, organize, and implement instructional programs in a learning environment that guides, inspires, and encourages students to fulfill their academic potential.

The role reports to the Principal, is Exempt, and operates on a 10-month contract with a starting salary of $48,500 and an annual $1,500 raise. It includes STRS, health benefits, and a 403B plan.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree
Master's degree in content area preferred
NYS Teaching Certification preferred
Experience in classroom teaching preferred
Strong communication, problem-solving, and human relations skills

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate grade and attendance records

Participate in professional development and home visits

Supervisory Functions

Supervise support teachers, interns, and teacher aides as requested

Duties and Responsibilities

Instructional:
- Manage classroom environment to promote student development
- Facilitate student learning and communicate progress
- Provide direct instruction and monitor student progress
- Align curriculum and stay current with teaching methodologies
- Provide students with frequent and accurate behavioral and academic feedback
- Identify students who are academically at risk and execute effective intervention strategies
- Consistently use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices
Non-Instructional:
- Mentor assigned teachers

- Communicate with students, parents, and colleagues
