Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a contract Social Worker to support elementary students (K-5) in Illinois. This onsite role runs 8:00 AM to 3:35 PM, with duties including assessments, counseling, and collaboration with teachers, admins, and families to promote student well-being.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois SSW license and Professional Educator License (PEL).
• Experience as a school-based social worker.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with staff, students and families.
• Ability to assess and address student needs through individual and group interventions.
• Organized, flexible, and committed to confidentiality and professional ethics.

Responsibilities

• Deliver school social work services to elementary students, grades K-5, in a supportive, inclusive setting.
• Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and provide counseling as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to promote student achievement and well-being.
• Participate in student support and special education teams to develop individualized student plans.
• Respond to crisis situations and provide short-term interventions.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare required documentation.
• Advocate for students social, emotional, and academic needs within the school.
