Job summary

KIPP SoCal Public Schools in the Los Angeles area seeks a dedicated teacher to join our network of charter public schools. You will build relationships, deliver engaging lessons, and support students’ growth from pre-K to middle grades across diverse communities.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree, CBEST or equivalent, and a preliminary or CLEAR credential. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits within a collaborative team environment.

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Passing CBEST or equivalency required.
  • Preliminary or CLEAR Science teaching credential preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach knowledge and skills, nurture confidence and character, and inspire students to achieve goals and positively impact the world.
  • Value and draw upon students’ experiences and backgrounds.
  • Utilize diverse instructional strategies to engage all students.
  • Develop and administer assessments to measure growth and mastery of standards.
  • Analyze assessment results to inform instruction.
  • Communicate and collaborate with teammates, parents, and community members.
  • Maintain high expectations for student achievement and conduct.

Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
Passing score on the CBEST or basic skills equivalency
Valid preliminary or CLEAR Science teaching credential

KIPP SoCal Public Schools is a nonprofit organization that operates 20 tuition-free, open-enrollment charter public schools, within 17 Local Education Agencies (LEA), educating more than 10,000 students and supporting 8,300 alumni to and through college and beyond. What You'll Do
  • Teach the knowledge and skills, nurture the confidence and character, and inspire the passion needed for our students to achieve their goals, live their best lives, and positively impact the world
  • Value and draw upon students’ experiences and backgrounds
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies based on the diverse needs of all the students that engage all students
  • Develop and administer a variety of assessments to measure students’ growth towards goals and to monitor students mastery of the content standards
  • Analyze informal and formal student assessment results and use this information to drive and inform instruction
  • Communicate and collaborate professionally with teammates, parents, and community members
  • Implement classroom management techniques to create a nurturing and structured classroom environment and structure
  • Maintain high expectations for students academic achievement and conduct
You’ll Be Qualified If You Have
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • Passing score on the California Basic Skills Test (CBEST) or basic skills equivalency
  • Valid preliminary or CLEAR Science teaching credential (Strong preference but not required)
